Kilim Rugs (Flat weaves)
Kilim, a word of Turkish origin, is often used for any flat woven, pileless rug. But it really denotes only those made using the technique unique to kilims. Reversible, durable, versatile, and prized for their gorgeous array of colors and patterns, vintage kilim rugs are traditionally hand-woven on a loom using wool and cotton. Find a one-of- a-kind kilim to perfectly fit your décor as a floor or wall covering.
The knotted rug is an art form created by the Turkic Nomads going back thousands of years. Today, the craftsmanship, technique, bold designs, and thick, lush pile of Anatolian rugs set them apart from other carpets. Make a decorative statement with the addition of a high-quality Anatolian rug of wool, cotton, or silk to your home or business.
Vintage handmade Anatolian runner rugs and kilim runners are perfect for narrow, high traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, and entrances. Add a unique decorative accent to your space while preventing floor damage and reducing the possibility of accidents.
Small, versatile, hand-knotted Anatolian rugs and woven kilims fit everywhere and add a splash of color and appeal anywhere you like. They’re perfect for use as a doormat, bathmat, even a yoga mat!
Kilim Stools, Poufs, Ottomans
Take a seat or put up your feet with sturdy, versatile, casual floor seating made of vintage Anatolian kilims and rugs. Soft or solid? Round or square? Pick a favorite stool, ottoman or pouf in a colorful kilim pattern to complement any room.
Pestemals (or peshtemal), the fringed cotton towels traditionally used in Turkish baths, originated in Bursa, Turkey in the 17th century. Thanks to their flat, light-weight cotton weave, pestemals absorb water faster, dry quicker, and take up less space than standard towels. Pestemals aren’t limited to the bath, spa or beach. Use as a shawl or blanket, a decorative throw for a couch or bed, a tablecloth, or wrap for baby or nursing.
