**Information about Kula Rugs

*The town of Kula lies about 100km east of Izmir on the road from Ushak Gordes Ladik and Bergama it belongs to the most important carpet centers of Anatolia. Kula carpets have been known since the late 17th century but their high productivity was in the 18th century. Characteristics of Kula carpets are the subdued colurs. In the majority are prayer carpets with straight-lined mihrab gables.
