$1,950

Antique Bergama Kozak rug from the mid-19th century (1850-1870) is a prayer rug made of all lamb's wool, featuring a central niche design and a palette of 7 colors. These rugs are produced in the village of Kozak, which is located north of Bergama and is known for its carpets that belong to the Bergama group. The rugs are typically small in size and showcase distinct Caucasian traits, providing insight into the origin of the village inhabitants and their name. The central motifs of the field are often medallions with polygons, while prayer patterns are a rare occurrence in these pieces.
