Antique Bergama Kozak Rug 3'4"x4'10"
Antique rug from the village of Kozak, north of Bergama, is a true masterpiece. Dating back to the second half of the 19th century, it belongs to the Bergama group and showcases clear Caucasian traits in its structure and colors. With medallions featuring polygons as the central motifs and rare prayer patterns, this small-format kilim is a testament to the origin of the village inhabitants and their name. Made from base brown sheeps wool and featuring a pile of soft lambs wool, this kilim boasts undyed white details on its pile and archaic symbols on one end. With a color palette of six hues, this vintage kilim is a stunning example of traditional Anatolian artistry.
